The people of Gbanti Kamaranka
Chiefdom in the Bombali District are beneficiaries
of four Community Projects undertaken
by Government, through the National Commission
for Social Action (NaCSA).
The two Primary Schools at Kambia and
Makulon Sections, the market at Kamaranka
Section and the bridge at Royeima were
implemented through NaCSA’s Community
Driven Programme (CDP), jointly funded
by Government and the World Bank.
Commissioning the four projects Vice-President
Solomon Berewa said he was delighted that
residents of Gbanti Kamaranka Chiefdom
were pleased to receive him and other
Government Officials to be part of history
which shows that they are appreciative
of the strides government is making to
further improve the lives of its people
through development activities that demands
the people’s participation. He said
the two schools, the market and the bridge
will contribute to the socio-economic
advancement of Gbanti Kamaranka Chiefdom
which is another large Chiefdom in Bombali
District. He reiterated that children
will no longer have to walk long distance
to access education and it will also reduce
the risk of accident on children.
Mr. Berewa expressed delight for the
market and bridge construction, as both
will encourage economic growth and foster
unity in the chiefdom. The Vice-President
urged residents of Gbanti Kamaranka Chiefdom
to utilize the facilities and to maintain
them, noting that Local Councils have
other areas to service.
NaCSA’s Commissioner Kanja Sesay
explained the three main programmes of
the commission with the Community Driven
Programme being the largest. He said the
projects will not only benefit the four
Communities, but has enhance their capacity
to implement future projects. Mr. Sesay
assured residents of Gbanti Kamaranka
Chiefdom of Governments continued support
as long as they are willing to collaborate
in their own development activities.
The Regent Chief of the Chiefdom Pa Foday
Turay praised the efforts of Government
for making the four projects a reality.
He said the projects demonstrate Governments
commitment to meet the needs of its people,
noting that Gbanti Kamaranka Chiefdom
has benefited a total of six sub-projects
from Government NaCSA. Chief Foday Turay
appealed for the construction of more
facilities especially the road condition
which will make way for economic growth.
The four Project Management Committees
expressed gratitude to government for
the gesture noting that they will live
up to the challenge of maintenance culture.

bridge at Royeima all in Gbanti Kamaranka
Chiefdom were implemented by Government
and the World Bank through NaCSA’s
Community Driven Programme.
